- What does the Bible have to say about body image
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "Do you not know that your body is a
temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have
received from God? You are not your own; you were bought
at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
Romans 12:2 "Do not conform any longer to the
pattern of
this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–
his good, pleasing and perfect will."
1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do
not consider
his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord
does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the
outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Psalms 139:14-16 "I praise you because I am
fearfully and
wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full
well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in
the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of
the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days
ordained for me were written in your book before one of them
came to be."
